New Gallery Wall in the Living Room

Hello!! It's Spring!! I finally got some time to play in my house recently and I enjoyed every second! The windows open, some new thrifted finds, it was so fun! I decided I needed a little something over here by my fireplace...

I've wanted a gallery wall over here for a while but I was having a hard time coming up with a color scheme. When I came across a couple thrifted finds in black and white, I decided that was it! I brought them home, shopped my house and came up with this cute gallery wall on either side!

I had to add a wedding picture of my parents, one of my favorite quotes and Elvis of course. My mom was Elvis Presleys number one fan so he had to become part of the wall. My mom had this hanging in their home for the longest time. We had it at her funeral and I took it home after. I love how it looks! I just started with the biggest picture and hung it a little over to the side and filled in around it. I have no rules to my gallery walls, or even my decor in general. It's really just what my eye finds appealing. I use tacks so that if I need to move something, I can easily do that!

I think it turned out super fun and it added the little something that was missing over here by my faux fireplace. You can see how I made that HERE

My Traditional Nostalgic Christmas Living Room and Tree

Happy Friday! Life has been life-ing lately so I didn't get a post up last week but this week I thought I'd share my tree and my Christmas living room with ya...

If you saw my kitchen post, you know I decided to go very traditional this year. I was hoping for a 90's nostalgic feel while also keeping my eclectic style going. I chose blue and white, red and green and I'm loving all of it! Typically by this time I'm kind of over the decor and ready for a clean, less chaotic space but not this year! I'm all about it. I think its just all the happy colors happening.

We've been collecting houses over the years... Santa brings one every year and our collection is growing! My hope is to be the grandma that has a whole Christmas village room one day but I love how it's looking behind the couch this year. Also, we went to Disney at the beginning of the month so I'm FULL ON OBSESSED at the moment.

Of course in 2024 fashion, I added bows everywhere and It just adds such a cute festive touch everywhere! I love it.

Ignore my chipped up fireplace and the flocking all over the tree skirt. I've shaken that thing out twice now but my house is small so someone runs into the tree almost daily hahaaaa

I had most of my ornaments already but I added the blue and white ones from my boutique this year and I got some tiny frames on Amazon and added ribbon to the back to hang pictures. I've done this every year for a while with different frames but these frames are just beautiful!

There it is! I took way too many pictures but the green and red colors are just making me so so happy this year. Thanks for taking a look!!

Christmas in My Kitchen

Merry Christmas!!! JK!!!!! But it's festive over here! I love decorating for Christmas early. We enjoy the twinkle lights and different greens and reds. I adore the feeling and it just makes me feel happy!!...

This year I went very traditional with my decor. I added some berries I found at walmart all over and used some red ribbon to add the pop of red I was wanting. It feels so nostalgic and I love it! I got my cabinet ribbon from Amazon. I posted a reel on my instagram about those and the present frame over my stove! All I did there was cut a piece of cardboard to size, wrap it in wrapping paper and put a bow on it. Super easy and festive! I think a whole gallery wall of these in different prints would be SO FUN!!!!

This picture was the inspiration behind my whole decor color scheme this year. The blue and white vase with red and green was exactly what I wanted to see!! I kept all of my blue and white out and added the red and green around the house. I'm excited to show you more!

I also switched out my curtains over my sink. I love the stripes and ties at the top. Gives a country farmhouse feel.

Halloween Dining Room

Again, Homegoods and leftovers from years past s where I got it all! I did get the cauldron at Walmart. It's pretty simple but I'm loving the moodiness.

Happy Blog Day! I can't believe October is almost over and I'm thinking about where my Christmas tree's are gonna go. It's exciting but also like where did the year go... I've enjoyed my Halloween house a lot this year. I did a little more than normal so here's a look inside my kitchen...

I diy'd this cute skeleton frame. You can see that HERE. It was easy and fun and I can't wait to come up with something for this frame to DIY for Christmas! I also added some witch hats to my island lights. Find that DIY HERE

Everything I either have had for years or I picked up on one of my many trips to HomeGoods.

I got the little checkered lamp recently at Hobby Lobby and the green pot came from Aldi!

Spooky Entry Table

Its friday and its homecoming here in my little town. We're about to have our parade but I wanted to get these pics out to share my spooky entryway with you...

Really the only thing "spooky about it is the dying plant but I found some cute stuff at Michaels recently and decided to put it together on my entry console table.

It's just fun and cute for the season! I grabbed the lamp covers at Michaels along with the Spiders. I had the rest from previous years but I thought the lamp covers were super cute! You just wrap them around your lamp shade and tie them together. I love how they look at night with the lights on!

I wrote all about this cute console table HERE if you wanna see more. It's still one of my favorite furniture pieces! I am thinking about changing out the handles though? We'll see.

Moody Curtains in the Living Room

New post day! I grabbed some beautiful curtains at Homegoods the other day. I knew I had to have them and was originally gonna put them in my bedroom for fall but I didn't even look at the size and they're waaaaay too short...

I didn't even realize they were too short until I hung them up!!! I don't know what i was thinking but I knew I wanted to add some warmth and moodiness in this area of my home so I took them into the living room. They're still way too short for in here but luckily I have an abundance of things and furniture so they're hidden behind the chairs. Works for me and they really warm it up over here.

They're so so pretty. I love the colors and I'm gonna keep them up throughout winter too. They're a velvet material and I love how they just frame the windows.

It's so cozy. I didn't take my other curtains down. I was going to and then I decided I'd put these up to make sure I like them before I go taking the others down but once they were up, I LOVED how the white curtains looked with the dark ones. It was a happy accident and I'm happy it worked out that way! I think it makes the curtains look super lux!

Halloween Living Room

Hello!!! It's Halloween time in my house. I absolutely love it. It's like 90* here today but I don't even care. We're in the -BER months and I'm loving it! I got my house all decorated for Halloween and I went kinda crazy this year...

I wanted stuff and lights everywhere. I added these lights around my blue and white pumpkins. They can change colors and come on when the TV comes on. I also put a reflection light in the corner that reflects onto the wall. I love the purple color so thats what they're set to right now and I love how they look at night! I added some cob webs, spiders, garlands and lots of pumpkins.

Grabbed these cute candlesticks at Homegoods recently.

Our one leg skeleton made an appearance again this year. I'm still confused on where that leg went to... but he's still cute!!

I recently got the ghost pillow and throw blanket for less than $10 at the Walmart. The other pillows came from Amazon several years ago. They're just pillow covers I found for cheap!

I'm loving how the house is looking and how much my kiddos love it! We're big Halloween fans. I hope you got some inspiration for Halloween! See ya next week!

Maximalist Halloween Bathroom

Happy Friday and happy Spooky season... almost! It is in my house anyway. Halloween and Christmas are my favorite times because I love going all out and transforming my house. I do it all for my kids and they are loving the Halloween decor this year. I started in my bathroom and I went a little crazy with it...

I already had a lot of the decor but I did pick up a few things from the Target Dollar Spot, Walmart, Dollar General, Homegoods and Michaels.

I wanted lots of different lights and just spooky touches allll over. So we don't have to turn the lights on and its just a whole vibe! We have an alexa in here playing spooky music, its just a fun filled little bathroom trip and I LOVE IT!!! I switched out the bathroom rug with one from Homegoods and I hung witch hats and floating candles with tacks from the ceiling. I also grabbed some eyeball bath bombs from homegoods, some cutsie little trinkets from the Target Dollar Spot, Walmart and Dollar General. The Selections this year are SO GOOD!

Early Fall Kitchen

Happy Friday Blog Day! I've been struggling lately to get the extras done. Grief is weird and comes at unexpected times but I found the energy recently to get out some fall decor and decorate a bit and it cheered me right up! I put just a couple things in my kitchen for fall. I'm definitely more of a Halloween decor girlie so this space will be changing soon but for now...

I really only added a couple pumpkins, some fall stems in my "pumpkin vase" (I just cut the top off of a hollow pumpkin. Super cute!) and a beaded pumpkin runner. I like how simple it is while giving a little nod to fall. Cause girl idk about you but I'm over this 100 degree weather and I'm a summer girl through and through!

I'm loving the fall touches. I got most everything at Homegoods over the years. I'm such a sucker for that place ugh!!!

Bringing Summer Into My Bedroom

Happy Friday! Its a beautiful day to share my summer bedroom with you. It all started with trying to find some curtains because I stole the curtains I had in here for my living room...

I always have a plan when I'm decorating to "keep it simple" and "relaxing/zen" and then it ends up spiraling into a bunch of pattern mixing and color throwing and I've just gotta accept the fact that I'll never be a minimalist! I love the style and it feels so fresh and calming but I just physically cannot decorate that way haha

I was originally looking for plaid curtains in here. I shared that on my Instagram stories not long ago because I wanted to, again, "keep it simple" LOL girl. I was in the HomeGoods the other day and these beautiful curtains popped out at me. The perfect length, a good price, such a pretty pattern with pastel colors. I said screw it lets try them in my bedroom. I was kinda nervous because my bedroom does have a bit of a neutral base with the wall color and all the black and white. I wasn't sure how the pastel would look but I actually LOVE them!

After that naturally came the spiral of moving things around and shopping my house for things to finish it off and it's making me so happy! I'm loving all the soft colors with the black ceiling and all the different patterns.

I sure hope your summer is going well. We're loving it over here!

My First Mother's Day Without a Mom

Hey there! Happy Friday. I wanted to get this post up because honestly it just helps me to write stuff out. So here we go...

For those who don't know, my mom died in April of this year. It's been difficult but I'm managing. Good and bad days... you know the drill. I hadn't really thought much about Mother's Day coming up. I guess I was subconsciously ignoring it? I'm not sure but I wasn't afraid of it. I do know that. The days leading up to Mother's Day were seemingly fine. I served mimosas at my store in honor of it and got through that Saturday just fine. Watching all the moms and daughters out shopping. Something me and my mom used to do when I was younger in this same little town. I kept a smile on and it was honestly nice to see all the happy faces. I left work, not feeling much of anything. Hearing "happy Mother's Day" all day long hadn't caught up to me yet. I just went about my day. I like to say I'm pretty good at ignoring stuff but that will only last so long and eventually all of the yucky feels will come out and that's exactly what happened.

I woke up on Mother's day with a huge cloud over me. Everything felt dark and gross and I did not want to get out of bed. I hadn't even told myself "it's Mother's Day" yet. My body just seemed to know already. I didn't go to sleep with dread or think to myself "tomorrow is gonna be shitty" I just went to sleep like I do any other day. My eyes opened and I didn't want to get up but Jason had plans for us to go have breakfast, buy some flowers and do some gardening. I got up, put make up on, cried it all off... re put make up on and went out the door. I got in the car and cried the whole way to breakfast. Not talking at all... not trying to cry... tears just kept coming outta my face. Luckily I have the most wonderful mans in the world and he just comforted me. I was not prepared for all the emotions I would feel that day.

It was just WEIRD! On one hand I was so incredibly sad thinking about how much I just wanted to give my mom some flowers and a hug and on the other, I was being spoiled and treated to breakfast and flowers and adorable cards from my own boys. I was so thankful and happy and yet so freaking sad. I don't know that I've ever felt two complete opposite emotions at the same time like that before but here I was. I can say I don't know what I would have done without my people showing me love. Being a mom is such a gift and I wanted to enjoy the day and I ultimately did but the silent moments and the unwanted thought of "you don't have a mom" creeping in was really un fun.

We ended up with lots of flowers, I got some precious cards, gifts from friends and we did lots of gardening. I'm still not ok but I'm finding ways to try to be. I'm putting myself into my work a lot more and nurturing the relationships I do have. I'm trying. Every day is different. Right now I'm in the angry phase of grief and holy shit it's real yall. Every thing pisses me off right now haha but my therapist says that's normal so I'mma just let it ride!!

I wanted to get my feet wet here in talking about this topic because I have a post I want to put out but it's extremely difficult to write about. It's just scary to share but I know getting it out will help me heal. I'ts about my mom and what she went through and it's part of the reason why I'm no longer drinking alcohol so the posts go hand in hand. When I'm ready, I'll share both of those but until then... I'll put in little blips here and there about grief and losing a parent while also decorating and sharing fashion content.

Another.... Dining Room Refresh

That's right. I refreshed my dining room... again... but listen! I finally am in love with it...

So ever since I stopped drinking, and I never have friends over.... I've had no need for a "bar". I used to use my Bartesian like it was a coffee machine so that had to go and now I've converted this space to my coffee/healthy drink station!

I decided to add my coffee machine over here and all my green/healthy drinks. Frees up counter space in my kitchen and when they're put in pretty jars, It acts as decor!

I chose to cover up all the little nail holes in my wall with another gallery wall. I just went around my house and put this together. I think it turned out cute! I grabbed this runner and the flowers from my store (Solana on Broadway) and just styled a little bit.

I'm loving how functional it is now. Just feels so much better over here.

I hope you enjoyed this little look into what my dining room looks like now haha I'm loving it! The paint color is Silhouette by Benjamin Moore (VERY similar to Urbane Bronze by Sherwin Williams) it's one of my favorite colors. It's a deep warm gray. SO GOOD!!! Looks beautiful paired with wood, gold, and black.

An Entry Upgrade!

Happy Friday!! Finally getting around to sharing this space but I'm kinda glad all the hiccups happened because I didn't have this beautiful console table before!! Isn't she pretty...

Jason and I love to go wandering through Homegoods quite often. I ran into these GORG lamps recently on one of our trips there and I absolutely could not leave the store without them. The marble bottom, the gold birds and the scalloped shade had me in love instantly! I put them on my other console table and thought I couldn't love the space any more... until...... we were once again perusing the aisles of Homegoods and came across this console that was WAY on clearance because of a dent in the side that's barely noticeable, especially when its concealed by a plant.

The console table is wrapped in fabric. I love that detail. I love the combination of the masculine, straight line, black metal railing mixed with the soft, curved feminine console table. This space makes me super happy! I had to re frame my center photo with another poster frame because the other one fell and broke. I thought a more intricate frame would be cool, so I grabbed one from At Home and had Jason hang it back up properly LOL. You can see how I originally made these frames and hung them over my stairs HERE. They're somewhat crooked/off center but I'll fix that later ;)

When styling this, I wanted it to give "hotel lobby" vibes. I kept it simple with a stack of books and a candle and the two lamps. Its functional, light, simple and I'm very happy!!

Simple Landscaping

Hey there! Happy Friday. I shared on my Instagram recently that I got a little early birthday present from Jason. I finally have some pretty landscaping! All we did was rip out a couple dead plants and add some rock...

I just really really love how it turned out! It's simple but makes me feel soooo happy! I love pulling up to my house now.

There were two rose bushes here where the chairs are that I used to LOVE but they ended up getting taken over by weeds and died. Sad day. They were also full of thorns and that mixed with two rowdy boys who love to play tackle football in the front yard did not mix well. We took those out and added the rock and holy moly it made such an amazing difference.

I got all the lights (lanterns, string lights and solar disc lights) from Aldi! I just LUUUUUURVE the Aldi so much.

Here's the before, after we ripped out the dead rose bushes... I love the boxwoods and the bushes on the right turn really pretty in the summer so I decided to keep those.

I didn't get a lot of during of the process but we just put down some landscaping fabric I also found at Aldi. Luckily when I moved into the house, there was already mulch so the grass was already cut out for us. We just followed the layout that was already there, tacked down the fabric and spread out the rock.

It took a few hours but it was so worth it. I finally feel like I have my life together LOL. I know we judge ourselves so much but I truly felt like the scum of my neighborhood!! I had weeds growing and it just looked like a whole mess. I was embarrassed for the Amazon guy to see my mess! I just couldn't keep up. Now, it's simple and beautiful.

Thank you for reading, friends. Also, thank you all so much for all the love with the death of my mom. I want to write a blog about that and also becoming sober. They are both very heavy topics so I have to find words. But eventually, I'll get there. Also, also, I was going to put up a post about my entry way this week but I took pictures on a rainy day and they turned out terrible. Finally... Barstools!

Happy Saturday! I got so busy yesterday and last week that I wasn't able to get a post up. But I recently got in these new bar stools and I had to share! I've been searching for the perfect barstool forever now...

I've gone through a few different stools in here. I had some acrylic ones I absolutely LOVED but I ended up taking those to my Event Space. They are perfect in there so I got some cheap ones off Amazon and my son was helping me get them out of the box and set up and he somehow misplaced the screws. So the tops were never screwed on, they were too small and just didn't fit the space well. I searched and searched and found several I loved but wasn't willing to spend the high price tag. I came across THESE on Nebraska Furniture Mart when I was finding my boys beds (room tour coming soon) and I fell in LOVE!!

I absolutely love the apoulstry color and the black spindle legs are SO fun. I love pops of unique throughout my home so these were perfect. They're also functional! Jason has complained about my tiny bar stools forever and these bad boys are sturdy and durable while also being beautiful. Love them all around!

I love that the black ties in with my countertops and other accents in the kitchen and the fabric goes perfectly with my couch and lightens up the countertops. It's a perfect balance! I love that I could buy 3 and that the stools are a counter height so you're not squished under the island. My little boys can move them out easily to get onto them. They're just lovely! New Light in the Dining Room

It's Friday again and that means a new blog post! I recently switched out this little light in my dining room. I gotta tell ya... I'm loving it...

Here it was before. There is no light here just the recessed lighting on either side so I just rigged up some chain and a lamp shade and a puck light and called it a day but I was really missing the actual light over here. I got this adorable pendant chandelier for my guest bedroom a while ago and decided I'd hang it up on the hook. The cord is long enough to just swag over from my pantry outlet! I'm loving how it looks now and the extra light is lovely!

"Sav-ing" up The Loft: The Entry

Hello! Happy Friday!! What a busy couple weeks its been over here... Everyone's birthday falls around the same time and I'm just over here trying my best to keep up. But today I wanted to share a peek into The Loft! What is The Loft you ask? Well... I'll tell ya...

For those who don't know, I started a business...er... 2 businesses in 2022. I bought this building in Downtown Excelsior Springs Missouri and put a home decor boutique in one spot downstairs and put an event space in the other spot downstairs and upstairs was already a functioning vacation rental that I took over called The Loft. I now own all 3! You can read more of the story HERE. The Loft came fully furnished and they completely rehabbed the building in 2020. They did an incredible job and I pinch myself everyday trying to understand how I got such an amazing opportunity. The Loft is BEAUTIFUL but Savanna has a style of her own and I've been slowly adding things up there to make it more "Sav". I have lots of plans but the place is HUGE so I'm taking it slow. For now, I started with the entry way. Here's how it looked before:

It was empty before and I added these two thrifted pictures I just had on hand for the time being. But yesterday I went to town making it more functional and adding some flair! Here it is now:

Here's how my brain executed this...

I first started by finding this magazine holder in the back and tried to figure out what to do with it. I thought "some trip planners would go good in here... I'll grab the ones from the loft and put them in here... ooh the entry is lacking in the character department... I'mma hang it up here!" So I did. Then I went and grabbed this skinny table I've moved around for about 15 years now.. I wanted a spot for people to drop keys etc and a place for them to get information about the town and about my business so I put some business cards and a qr code leading to the downtown website. Stuck it in a frame and after I put that up I realized I needed some height in the corner so I went to my event space and added this large flower vase. I then grabbed these hooks and hung them up for jackets etc to kind of even out the other side. I decided I wanted something small above the magazine holder so I got online and found old post cards of downtown and found one of my building! So cool. So I got it and popped it into a frame I already had. THEN.... you guessed it, I'm not done yet... I saw this lamp in my boutique. I LOVE THESE LAMPS SO MUCH but this one was displayed by the front window for a long time. It faded over time and was no longer something I wanted to sell... It still looks good it's just clearly faded when it's hanging up next to the other ones. They are hardwired lights and in true Savanna Fashion I decided I wanted to rig it up to fit over this already existing light. I've done this several times with Lamp shades in my own home (you can see those HERE) so I grabbed some wire cutters and cut the wires out. EEK. It's ok I promise!! I then added some hooks around the light that was already up there and stuck the shade up. It's not a professional job by any means but LOOK how cute!!!!

It added the perfect touch of color and whimsey i've been craving in here.

One thing just lead to another in here and I really wasn't planning on doing this at all this week but here we are. That's how my brain works... I think it's cute and functional and fun for such a small space.

Like I said, I have lots of plans for up there. I will share those with you soon but it will take some time before I'm able to bring them to life. This little project was just something I was able to do for "free" because it was all stuff I already had. I love shopping things I already own to transform spaces and I love how this one turned out!!! Living Room Update: Curtains

Haaaappy Friday!! I don't know about you, but once I get a tiny glimmer of the weather being above freezing, I move into spring mode. With that comes decluttering, re arranging, and lightening up my house a bit...

I've been wanting to add curtains in here since I moved in but the woodwork above the windows is so pretty, I never wanted to cover it up. However, I recently decided to just try it because I wanted something different and I'm so glad I did! It cozied up this space so much! Before I had a gallery wall on either side. I loved it but I just wanted something simple and light. So the curtains from my bedroom it is. I'm very happy with how it turned out! Here's a picture of the before...

Now it just feels so much more airy in the day time and cozy at night. I love how just a simple curtain moment can change a whole room!

Who else is ready for spring?? I have my windows and doors open any chance I get!! I need the sunshine in my life after a dreary winter. Let's hope the sun sticks around. Back of Couch Blankets

A trend I'm loving right now... Back of couch blankets... I didn't have a better name to call them. But I am loving the pop of color it adds in my living room. I also included some inspiration photos I found on Pinterest. So let's go take a looksie!!...

I found this cutie at Homegoods and knew it needed to live on the back of my couch. I love the functionality it adds by protecting the back of the couch from dogs and kids but it also looks so cute! I love the pop of color and it just feels like the little touch my couch needed.

Here are some other inspo photos I came across on Pinterest. I love how chic it looks tucked behind the cushions. It's a great way to add some color or pattern without getting too crazy. I Think I'll always have one now! You could use any blanket but I think the flat ones (no pom poms or fluffy blankets) look best.

Life on Summer Hill

They really are so chic and its a much more "designer" way to add a blanket to a couch. You could also do some sort of tapestry on the back of the couch for an even more designer look! I couldn't find any photos of this but I'm picturing like a landscape tapestry on the back of a couch. Super unique and I love the idea of that!

I gotta get better at picture taking lolololol thanks for being here anyway...

My 2024 Decor Predictions

Happy Friyay!! I this post is finding you well. I've been seeing a lot of cool design trends lately and I wanted to share my thoughts on some of them. I'm really excited for this year in the design world because I totally see my style in a lot of the trends going around...

This year I see the colors switching from light and bright to moody and masculine. Which is SO my vibe. I see a lot of rich wood tones showing back up and a lot of collected decor rather than your big box furniture. All of these things just get me soooo excited!!! These design trends are already fully at play by designers, I just see them going more mainstream soon. Let's see what's coming in 2024 according to lil ol me. All photos came from Pinterest.

First: Moody, muted, deep, yummy color pallets.

Even if you love Gray, I see the grays going into a warmer tone. Lots of burgundy, navy blue, woodsy green tones. I feel like we've been in the light and bright era for a while now and it's still beautiful, but I can see a lot of folks getting bold and trying some color out and a great way to do that is through muted jewel tones. I painted my closet, hallway, bathroom and dining room in these deep rich colors and I still love the look.

Monochromatic trim and wall color.

I absolutely love this look and think it is so chic and makes your space instantly look designer. It's such an easy way to get away from the builder grade look and truly makes a big statement. I did this in my dining room and I love it.

Painted/wallpapered ceilings are such a fun way to add color without going crazy with it.

I adore a ceiling moment and I really love a wallpapered ceiling. It's unexpected and truly just ties a space in a nice pretty bow! I painted my bedroom ceiling black, my hallway ceiling the same color as the walls and I wallpapered my entry way ceiling. I'm still loving it to this day and I hope to do more! This trend isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Pattern Mixing is one of my favorite things.

They used to say "you cant mix x pattern with y pattern" girl shhhhhh. Yes you can! Get whimsical and eclectic with it! When it comes to decor, don't think too much... I promise you'll be happier :)

Plaid is huge right now and I'm obsessed with it!!!

I love everything from plaid wall paper to plaid rugs to plaid drapes. It's all so classy and beautiful to me and an easy way to mix patterns if you're nervous about it. Plaid goes with everything!

Collected furniture is in and matching sets are out.

The most beautiful decor to me is collected. When none of it came from the same place but somehow all makes sense. I love mis matching chairs and bedroom furniture. Second hand is the way to go for this.

Rich wood tones are making a huge comeback.

I am in love with wood cabinets, wood trim and deep rich wood floors. The lighter colors are pretty... but the rich tones are coming in quite rapidly lately.

Terracotta Flooring.. I know, I know. The 90's called... and she's coming back.

90's has been seen a lot in fashion as we've seen but I see it coming back a lot in decor too. I'm not mad. The 90's were the best! I'm seeing a lot of terracotta flooring and also just organic tiles. I love the rustic look of it.

This doesn't even scratch the surface of what's to come in design, but these are the trends that I'm most excited about. As I was going through them and seeing how much I've already done, maybe they're not coming back and I'm just over here trying to justify my weird design choices? Who knows. HA! I'm just excited to see all this lovely decor alive and well. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Record Gallery Wall Tour

Happy Friday my friend! I wanted to take you on a gallery wall journey today. It's a fun one!! I decided when I did my first record gallery wall, that I would put one in every building/home I own. So far I've done that...

This one here is the first one I ever did. I got a bunch of records from my dad and grandpa and had some wall space to fill. I ended up just finding some black and white ones and using thumb tacks inside the sleeve to hang them up. It's such a simple and unexpected way to fill a lot of wall space.

This next one is one I did in my current house. I've since redecorated it and you can see how I re did it HERE. But it was so fun while it lasted! I wasn't sure how to spice up this little hallway and went with my old tried and true favorite.

These next two are currently up in my Event Space and my current home. The first one is the Event Space. It's a cute and fun conversation piece and goes along with the theme of a fun and happy space. I started this gallery wall with lots of colorful sleeves and records and I didn't like it as much. I switched it up and brought it back to the neutral color pallet and I like it so much more. The color can work somewhere, I just haven't found it in my world yet. But stay tuned!!

This next one is my current bedroom. I hung these up and hung my tv on top. I love how it turned out! It's such a pretty backdrop for a tv. If you know me... you know I hate tv's and how they look.. so I always try to dress mine up. I spray painted this one gold haha you can see that HERE.

I have a plan to put another record gallery wall in my Vacation Rental as well. It's gonna be big and so fun!! I will share that when I get to it. I also have lots of plans for adding more of my touch up there in the Loft I will share here soon!

Record gallery walls can really work everywhere. I've put them in an old farmhouse, a new construction house and a 122 year old building in downtown Excelsior Springs MO... and I will continue to prove that they work everywhere in every space I own! LOL If you try it out, send it to me! I'd love to see!!

I just used tacks and small nails to hang up all the records and record sleeves.

Air Fryer Pasta Chips

Hello you!!! Happy 2024! My wish is that this year is just better than last year for all of us... Who else had a rough go last year?? ME!! And lots of people in my life. For Christmas this year I got an Air Fryer and I'm excited to use it a whole lot! Here is my first recipe in it...

I made these super simple pasta chips! I love me some pasta... so when I find different ways to eat it, I love to try them! I am NOT a kitchen girlie. I always say my stove is a piece of furniture which is silly because it's actually a really nice stove that came with the house but ya girl can't cook. If I do make something, I opt for "super easy" so that's what I did here!

For this recipe you'll need:

Your pasta of choice (I chose ziti but you could also do penne or another short kind)
3 Tbsp of olive oil
1/2 tsp of garlic powder
1/2 tsp of Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp of salt and pepper
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Marinara sauce for dipping

Pre heat your air fryer to 400

Cook your pasta and then let cool for a bit. Add it to a mixing bowl and add in your olive oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper and grated parmesan cheese.

Mix well and add a layer to the bottom of your air fryer pan. Try to spread evenly and don't have too many on top of each other. Cook for 7 minutes or until desired crunchiness. I found 7 minutes was perfect. I went 8 with the first batch and they got a little too crunchy for my liking. 7 did the trick!

Dip in some marinara sauce and you have a delicious, crunchy, pasta snack!

I loved how easy and yummy this snack was. I had it for dinner and it filled me up!
